A co-chair of the Democratic Socialists of America is being ferociously mocked for her inability to answer a simple question from a journalist.

DSA co-chair Megan Romer appeared Friday on “The New Yorker Radio Hour” podcast, and told host David Remnick: “We do believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires.”

The question from Remnick that prompted Romer to blow a gasket was: “What does ‘taxing the hell out of them’ mean?”

Remnick again asked: “If you’re the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn’t you be more specific than just taxing the hell out of something? What exactly do you mean?”

“So again, it’s democracy, right?” Romer said. “And we have to look at what we have to spend and what we need. We don’t want to depend on the existence of millionaires because that means people are still getting exploited.”

“So yeah, we need to look at what we need to pay for in the interim, what sort of tax base we need for that to happen, and build from there.”

Journalist JD Rucker posted a column saying Romer “has “absolute porridge for brains.”

“What better way to let progressives see what they’re voting for? Trot out a co-chair of the DSA with maybe two brain cells to rub together, ask her simple questions, and watch her implode.”

Commentator Stephen L. Miller indicated: “They went to campus and had their heads filled with junk and have never been challenged on any of this for their entire life, by anyone. An entire generation of privileged idiots.”

Romer said: “They’re all part of this long term goal where we are putting huge amounts of resources into alleviating poverty, into stopping destabilization of countries internationally that are causing a huge migrant flow.”

“Most people in the U,S, are here because of a prior period of unrestricted immigration or of much looser immigration. We’re not saying throw the gates open. We’re saying, let’s do that. Let’s look at where the system is really flawed, really problematic.”

Remnick said: “I think that’s called immigration reform.”

“It means reforming the system we have while we rethink the system, while we build this new one from the ground up, and then hopefully eventually flipping the switch.”

DSA Co-Chair Megan Romer is asked to explain the DSA position on ‘open borders.’

The slightest ask for explanation or scrutiny placed on these nonsensical positions results in this rhetorical gobbledygook:

During the podcast, Romer admitted she “got most of my news from Jon Stewart. That was my primary news source.”
