WATCH: Uzbek truck driver who killed woman on U.S. highway caught lying to investigators about crash

A semi-truck driver who killed a woman on a Texas highway last week lied to investigators about the crash.

The driver, identified as Khasan Begbaev, 39, from Uzbekistan, was charged with manslaughter after Lisa Maldonado, 33, died in the crash.

However, dashcam footage reviewed by investigators shows that Begbaev was stopped on the off-ramp and reversed on the highway!

Fox 4 DFW reported:

Dashcam footage recovered from an 18-wheeler shows the driver was backing down a highway ramp prior to a fatal early-morning crash that killed a Garland woman on Interstate 30 last week, according to court documents.

Khasan Begbaev, 39, of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree felony manslaughter following the Sept. 4 crash.

The driver of the SUV, identified as 33-year-old Lisa Maldonado of Garland, was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:35 a.m.
