President Donald Trump said Monday his proposed $5,000 payment to adults who are U.S. citizens will be delivered, pushing back on Democrats who have questioned whether it can be done. “The $5,000 Dividend will happen because the People of our Country deserve it,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump tied the payment to money he said is coming into the country. [snip] Trump said Democrats are hoping the plan never happens. “But it will!” he wrote. He pointed to two earlier measures that he said were dismissed as impossible before they were enacted, citing last year’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act and a $1,776 payment to service members. [snip] Rep. Randy Fine, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Monday the proposal could help keep the economy strong and vibrant. On Newsmax’s “Wake Up America Early,” Fine said Republicans would examine the plan if they hold their congressional majorities after the election. [snip] He said Sunday the government can cover the cost, telling reporters in Ireland that the payment is manageable if Republicans win. [snip] “Of course, the devil’s in the details.
