Reuters had a concerning report that China was planning on shipping up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired air defense missile launchers (MANPADS) to Iran, according to three sources familiar with the deal. The deal allegedly includes Chinese-made QW-12 and FN-16 missiles, the sources said. The report even included the company allegedly involved as an intermediary in the deal. [snip] Iran has been pounded, with much of their supplies used or destroyed. As Reuters notes, they need to rearm because the U.S. has struck the regime’s missile and drone programs. But obviously such weapons are problematic because they’re highly mobile, which makes them harder to take out. As we reported earlier, Trump has already said that they were going to “beat the f**king sh**” out of Iran after the regime attempted a surprise missile attack on U.S. forces in Jordan. U.S. and Saudi forces then hit Iran-backed militias in Iraq after the surprise attack. So in addition to an unhappy U.S., China could be getting on the wrong side of the Gulf neighbors as well, especially Saudi Arabia, if they were to engage in such action.
