It turns out that too many foreigners who come to the United States on a tourist visa conveniently forget the important word here: tourist. That means you’re welcome to enjoy our wonderful country for a short period of time, then you must skedaddle on home. Often, however, people use tourist visas to get into the country and they never leave; some claim they overstay their welcome because they’re seeking “asylum” here. Needless to say, there’s plenty of fraud involved. [snip] The State Department is now taking aim at fraudsters who are overstaying on business and tourist visas, with as many as 200,000 foreigners set to have their visas stripped in what’s being called the largest mass revocation of visas in American history.
